约克区40个红灯摄像头位置！计划再加15个！自动开罚单

约克区目前在9个市镇的交通繁忙路口安装了总共40个红灯摄像头，到2026年还将增加15个，总共55个。

根据一份区域报告，这些摄像头有助于减少大约50%的碰撞事故。

政府计划在2023年至2026年期间每年在选定的十字路口增加5个摄像头。

约克区于2020年11月开始两年的试点，将一个移动自动测速执法摄像头在12个社区安全区域内轮换放置，这些区域涉及19所学校。

工作人员提供的数据显示，测速摄像头降低了每条道路的车辆平均行使速度，并提高了速度限制合规率。在执法后，车速平均下降了9公里/小时，符合速度限制规定的人增加了28%。

今年6月，约克区议会批准继续使用这些摄像头，并设立一个自动测速的行政罚款系统。

万锦市区域议员Jack Heath说：“我希望将来这个数字能达到一个水平，让社区里那些在学校或其他地方超速驾驶的人都无法确定在他们超速的附近有一个。”“这只是第一步。任重而道远。”

工作人员表示，自动行政处罚系统可能让项目完全收回成本。到2023年，这项计划的费用预计将达到300万元，到2026年，摄像头的数量将使成本达到1800万元。

道路和交通运营主管Joseph Petrungaro说：“我们的目标是在每个社区安全区域实现自动测速。”
