众议院监督委员会主席柯默（James Comer）表示，关键的白宫人员必须出席监督委员会，以让委员会能向美国人民提供他们应得的透明资讯与问责制。柯默称拜登“不适合”担任公职，并声称他的工作人员不够透明。
该委员会并补充说，根据拜登的一名前助理透露，被传唤的这3人在拜登周围，为他创造了“一个保护泡泡”。
白宫发言人山姆斯（Ian Sams）则表示，这项传唤是“毫无根据的政治噱头”，柯默“将传票武器化以获得头条新闻，而非透过适当的宪法程序寻求讯息”。
