There is no evidence to conclude the incident is race related.
If a company cannot terminate an employee because he or she is Chinese, Indian, Mexican or a member of any visible minority, the company will have hesitation offering him/her a job.
All employers have one agenda: hiring a staff to do the job the way the boss wants.
The best advice to these two poor fellows is let go and find another job.

You are super smart, and you know Canada very well.
1. These guys were referred by the agent to Sears. If their job is casual temporary, the agent is their boss, not Sears. The agent got a cut of their salary, and they could be told to leave anytime the agent wants. If their job is permanent, Sears is their boss but they still had to go through the probation. They have worked there for a few days, so either the agent or Sears could terminate them with or without just cause, because they were still in probation.
2. These guy saw them as supermen. In their perception, everyone was lazy and incompetent. In the business world and even in the government, anyone fails to meet the bench marks will be terminated in order to cut cost.
3. Fairness???? Who told you the workplace is a fair place? Employers give you a job to expect maximum contribution from you and everyone.
4. 张先生也火了,说话的声音也高了八度,他坚持要管工给出一个辞退他的理由,并要求管工将其写下来,签上管工的名字。 that's a good enough reason for termination. In a workplace, such a behaviour is too aggressive for any tolerance.
5. Protest. Fine, but not within Sears property.
6. Employment Standards Act. An employer has the rights to terminate a staff on probation or a casual staff hired by an agent. Period.
Never go and it is really not worth your time and any effort.
Have helped the same job the first few years in Toronto for Fair weather by my self find the job online, ( Never third party) , met the same thing. Never trust anybody and it is not worth to be angry with those lower leveled so called supervisor---only those slaves and dog of the boss. Sears had bad reputation in Toronto in business , and had closed many branches by hiring the flatters and lazy guys. We joking call it SARS 🙂
Now just try to contact with those smart people and have some education and brain. Use your time to find job or sleep at home is better than do anything like that. Just need to calm down.
This way also show we Chinese people have good education and moral level. Do not bother to argue with them. You will find the better jobs and bosses---better do business yourself or work for friend' s business --that is my advice.
Do not do labor anymore---what kind of people you will meet--they are the same thing as labors in our own place.---They keep on hiring them and finally they will have no business and pay more but get less done.---who cares??
Plus , they know most police and government than you, you won't win just waste your time.

And take time to understand Canada. There are many better people and place for you to work for🙂
Protestion just only show you have not good quality of personality to tolerance.
If they owed you big salary, you can sue them to labor board and that is good to do. But only this really do not need to take any action . And you should cheers for leaving those labors forever...Because they have no brain...

to your boss, this is normal behaviour here, try to find a new job if you do not like it.
The most important are facts and witnesses.
If you indeed think you haven't been treated fairly and you can get strong witnesses, most likely you will win this case. Otherwise, you should save your time, learn the lesson and move on.
I have successfully filed the case without hiring a lawyer in a court. My experience told me that all stories need evidence and facts to support. Opinions and irrationals will not work by the end of the day.
This rule of thumb works for any nation.
If you can get statements and signatures from your co-workers, go ahead. Otherwise, learn the lesson!
