Banks fail to match rate cut – again

Canada's banks, squeezed by tight credit conditions, only passed two-thirds of the central bank's rate cut on to consumers, posing a challenge for Ottawa as the economy withers.
Economically speaking both the liberals and conservatives, as well as the Bank of Canada, have governed this country's policies well. The Bank took time before making this decision to gauge the deflationary environment, and if this decision is made with the same thought as others over the past 15 years then I trust them. This is a good way in my opinion to stimulate the economy, as would be tax cuts, infrastructure investment, etc, NOT giving hand-outs to uncompetitive companies trying to play the jobs card and hold us hostage (pressure may force the gov't to cave in, but hopefully it is not striclty a hand-out and comes with strong conditions)
Kudos to the current Con government and the previous Libs. In addition to Canada's diversity, you are the reason we are faring well relative to other economies.
