That's nothing new, Japan also 让全球敬畏 in the 70's and 80's. But then simply disappeared from the radar since 1990. What happened? Aging population, skyrocketing housing and living cost are the cause of its permanent economic decline. Now take a look at China, the exact same problems start to appear, and more seriously thanks to the one child policy. Unless something dramatic happens, China will follow Japan's footprint, and gets old before it gets rich. It would 让全球敬畏 just for a short few years.
