1. find a legal-aid in your area. they provide legal assistance for low income families.
2. recognize the person who received your return keys. He/she is the witness. this person can be of help especially when you can't produce in court a document evidence. so use witness.
Nobody will like to be your wintness except your wife or firends.

1,你为什么告诉他们你的新地址?他们的信如果到不了你手里,那你没有办法!
2,在他们起诉你之前立即搬走,不让他们知道你的地址,包括电话都不用你们的名字注册。法庭信笺到不了你手里,他们拿你没辙。
3,千万不要找律师。因为律师要打官司才挣钱,他会千方百计要你打官司。
4,如果你给了哪个公司支票或者信用卡,要马上取消这些帐户。
5,用电子邮件告诉他们立即停止无理要求,否则你就把45万个华人电子邮件发出,揭发他们的恶劣行为。

Call the Legal assistant to get some ideas, they have free lawyer deal with landlord and tenant, the number is 416-461-8102 or 416-441-0969 depend where do you live.

And keep all document you have, such as fax, letter, especially the 搬迁通知条, even you had no receipt, that's ok. And also write down when and how you call the tribunal. And you can go to local comunity to seek free legal assistant as well. Nothing to worry, it's real life and it happens always and I am sure you will win if you do the right way.
I do not have good answer now, but do not worry too much.
They are abuse their right. Do not give them a penny, and
if you do goto court, it is OK, just make sure you donot have too much money in one of your bank account when you goto the court ^.^

前房屋管理公司谎称未收到提前六○天的退房通知,委托一家公司向我收取3500多元的天价费用。
我和我太太两人2003-07 至2004-08 共一年两个月 居住于 JANE & WILSON 的一座大楼,房租693元,当时的优惠是不用预交2月的房租,只需交693的money order后就搬入了,期间每月按时交租,一年后见到后搬入者有许多如免费停车位送空调免一个月租金等优惠,写信询问是否老住户也有相同待遇,如果没有我就要搬走,管理人员告知必须提前60天通知,于是写了搬迁通知条,不得已又多住了2个月,
临走留下钥匙给管理员并要求她上去看一看,管理员说“that’s OK”留下钥匙并没有上去检查房间。实际上房间保养得很好,走之前并作了清洁,所以我们很放心的离开了。
2005-05-14左右收到一封信来自Searchways-2000 关于“rental arrears $3540”的信件,我以为对方寄错地址,因为前房东Berkley公司管理很混乱的,基本每星期都有人搬出搬入,所以给她回了个电子邮件和传真要求他改正。没想到他又给我发来了一封详细的电子邮件,原文很长,大意是说受前房东Berkley公司委托追讨欠款3540元,
其中一:九月份发现房屋搬空,收取房租 ¥693
二:未收到退房通知,收取十月、十一月房租 $1386
三:据称he floors, baseboards and radiators had to be repaired,并且 entirety had to be plastered and painted. Exemplary and Punitive Damages in the amount of $ 1,000.00
四:Cost 15% of Claim $ 461.85
五:extra $ 200.00 in advertising fees for add placement in various rental publications.(这项费用比较奇怪,开始没有,在后来的邮件中出现,但总金额中也没有加入进去)
合计 $3540.85
我和太太在在递交退房通知时候没有向他们要回执,实际上也没有回执,(同时我太太还口头通知了管理人员,那位小姐还建议我们可以搬到其他楼层,这样就可以得到优惠。)其他住户好像也没见有拿回执。
我和太太在居住期间干净整洁,并无任何破坏的痕迹,这公司凭空捏造1000元的罚款究竟也太混帐了,但这厮的信件来看似乎是个专业人士,如果他勾结专修工人一口咬定那房间有损坏现象,那我该如何办?
这家公司扬言要去Toronto Small Claims Court,他还说要把文件送到“Equifax”和“Trans Union”。
我和太太现在都没有找到工作,我太太现在就要生小孩了(预产期6月5日),我们平时遵纪守法,小心谨慎,没想到人在家中座,祸从天上来!对于这样的事情不知该如何处理,特向网上各位高手求助。
