Everyone wants a better living, this properly is the main reason why you come to this country. But did you ever think about why the life quality doesn't seem to the one you want? When you look back at your life style in China, it was properly better than here. But why?
The reason is simple, you had your education in China, you had work experience in China and you properly worked pretty hard to get where you were. Therefore your life quality is properly better than other people.
Now you are in Canada, you thought that Canada will offe you s a better life without working for it. Oh, No. There is no free lunch. You need to work hard, get your foot into the door firsrt. Learn the skill, learn your English, learn to communicate with people, learn to present yourself, etc. You will get what you work for.

i do agree with you,especially your last argument--you have to work in order to obtain what you want. but the question is : after we come to canada, most of us are almost over 30 years old (you can judge this according to canadian immigration's requiremnets),which means we have already missed the right time to study and be trained for the new skill needed here. nevertheless, a life time is generally 70 years, you can work till your 50 age, then you can enjoy your rest time. coming to here at your age of 30's, you suddenly discovery that you have to fight for another 10 years to resume the same level of life you once had, so what is your feeling ? excited? distressed? this is really a thing that not every one can accept readily with joy.

你怎么知道我就不想工作? 你以为别人都是想不劳而获? 好像是资本家喝斥工人, 地主骂农民的口吻. 难道都要去工厂做LABOUR工才是脚踏实地, 才是融入加拿大社会, 才是接受了加拿大的现代化, 民主, 平等, 自由的信念. 为什么在工厂里做LABOUR工的大多数都是移民, 少数民族人士? 如果加拿大人那么喜欢做LABOUR工, 大家还去上学干什么?
如果加拿大觉得我不够资格, 不够聪明,能干, 加拿大人才很多, 不需要我这样的人, 我这样的人在加拿大只能做LABOUR工, 加拿大就是需要人来做LABOUR工. 也没有关系. 我会离开加拿大, 回中国的. 但是不要把做LABOUR工说得那么高尚, 好像文革时候宣传劳动人民光荣一样, 那些高官的后代会去做那些活吗? 不过是骗人的鬼话. 加拿大的本地人会愿意去做LABOUR工吗? 本来新移民去做LABOUR工就是生活所迫嘛. 也可以理解. 只是不要把无可奈何的事情描述得那么美好. 我最不相信那些夸张的好话了.

但是如果不考虑自己在中国好, 还是出国好, 为什么移民来加拿大呢? 难道来加拿大不是为了更好的生活? 那是为了什么? 民主, 自由? 我没有那么大的政治抱负. 我来加拿大就是为了一个更好的生活. 在中国我的生活不是很好, 但是也不错. 如果我来了加拿大, 反倒是为生活发愁, 整天做LABOUR工, 那不是我希望的. 我也不愿意接受这样的现实.
