39区施、蔡两人的对手是老牌政治人物凯利 (Norm Kelly)，曾做得两届国会议员的凯利在杜鲁多政府期间，还曾出任过国务秘书。凯利有个华裔太太，使他被华社熟知。 想嬴凯利，相当不容易。两个华人候选人，鹬蚌相争，渔翁得利，分了华人的选票，对凯利更有利。 蔡的犹豫是可以理解的。如果能撇开党派，施蔡最好有一人尽快退选，或许有可能华人胜出。直观感觉，蔡的基础不如老施，最好合而为一，让老施一人代表华人去跟凯利争，胜算更大些。 ４０区华人要胜出，也很艰难。除非联络所有华人，超越党派之争投票，才有希望。 ３９、４０选区和现任争夺，不容易。有华人敢站出来竞选，勇气难得，敬佩，敬佩。如果住在那，千万要支持一票啊。
