Asian students suffering for success, Nov. 10
Reading about the “high numbers of students of East Asian backgrounds at Canadian universities” reminded me of another such event which occurred about 60 years ago when some of our more illustrious Canadian universities decided to enact a quota system limiting the numbers of Jews entering some of their professional schools. I’m sure the fear-mongering rhetoric sounded much the same as we’re hearing about Asian students today. It was racism 60 years ago and it’s still racist today. Among many immigrant communities, education is seen as the main avenue for success. Isn’t that what our Canadian ‘mosaic’ needs — a well-educated population and workforce?

加拿大人和澳洲人一样，同属一种性格：内心阴暗，妒贤嫉能，骨子里欺软怕硬，充满自我优越感和种族歧视。是不折不扣的阴险文化。这可能和他们的爷爷都是来自欧洲的罪犯，恶棍有关系。
当他们对别人暴力的时候，他们会堂而皇之的人为：GOD LOVES ME， GOD HATES YOU！其实内心根本就没有上帝，有的只是他们自己。他（她）自己做什么恶毒的事都是GOD 允许和赞同的。
对历史，更是一知半解。一个从东部NOVA SCOTIA 来的烂女人，去了一次AUSTRALIA，回来后，大言不惭地说：“THAT'S”OUR PLACE， WHY SO MANY INDIANS AND AISIANS？“ 估计Y的看到毛利人以为是INDIANS，而且她认为那是他们祖宗八代的世袭地，按她的逻辑，毛利人应该是他们的爷爷。这厮可是NOVA SCOTIA 本地本科，硕士连读的，自以为才高八斗，无所不知的。

我赞同joyysh的观点， Toronto Start的这篇文章的确带有明显的种族歧视色彩。
下面以我的经历为例来谈谈我对这篇文章的看法。
1）本地白人上大学的比例低于华裔的问题。
今年五月，我所在公司Bell Canada招一名软件工程师，很多人申请这一职位。最后这一职位给了我们老板的老板的老板的高中毕业的女儿。我对此并无太大异议。这说明，有着长久广泛人脉的本地白人的子女，即使不读大学也较大学毕业的移民子女容易获得较好的工作。
2）华裔家长对子女要求过严的问题。
我1996年从中国大陆移居多伦多。希望我的女儿有比我更幸福的生活也是我移民的目的之一。我送女儿学钢琴，学游泳，学唱歌，去夏令营，冬令营，参加学校的各种课外活动。我从未强迫过她。我女儿很愿意去。
我只希望她有一个幸福的童年，更多的了解外面的世界，为今后的独立生活打下坚实的基础。
十几年来， 我经历过多次公司裁员，而我的每一次失业同样对我的女儿也是一次巨大震动。我的确多次向我的女儿表示，希望她努力学习，将来能有一份比较稳定的工作。 可以说是残酷的现实教育了我的女儿，促使她奋发向上。这一点并不是家长可以逼出来的。穷人的孩子早当家就是这个道理。
3）是否华裔子女只会读书而不问它事的问题。
可以说每一个族裔都有这样的孩子，而华裔的孩子绝不都是这样。
还是以我的女儿为例，在中学她做过救生员，小孩游泳教练，社区义工，多伦多国际铁人三项赛义工， 等等。在多伦多大学，她曾经是该校8人单桨赛艇队主力队员，4人单桨赛艇队队长。每天清晨4：30骑车去湖边与队友一同训练，而后回去上课，曾多次代表多伦多大学征战London Ontario, St. Catherine Ontario, Kingston Ontario, Boston USA and Philadelphia USA。同时她还是多伦多大学Trinity College学生会副主席，并代表学校参加各种科技竞赛。进入哥伦比亚大学医学院后，在繁重的学习之余， 仍从事各项医学研究工作，关注美国的医保改革，同时她还担任学生会副主席职务。当然在纽约，各种Party也少不了。她的朋友包括各个族裔，而不是Toronto Start的这篇文章中所说“华裔子女只和华裔子女交往，华裔子女歧视其他族裔”。
以上几例说明Toronto Start的这篇文章中的某些观点是片面的，是在误导读者，是LOSER的表现。

Problem lists for Maclean: sub-standard journalism, editorial's lack of due diligence, willful undertone of racial stereotype in its reporting.
To call on Rogers Communication, the parent company of Maclean, to publically apologize, and amend the mistakes Maclean made in its article.
Background information: Rogers issued a public apology to the Quebec people for the story Maclean ran on its cover when the Editors refused to say sorry. It is my belief that Rogers sees "Not Too Asian" in their customer, workforce, and business partners around globe.
