However, according to this link (http://www.crimeandinvestigation.co.uk/famous_criminal/24/the_arrest/1/Charles_Chitat_Ng.htm), Canada spent 6 years arguing with the US government. See this: When news of his capture alerted the American Task Force, bureaucratic red tape soon obstructed the extradition of Ng for trial in the States. This protracted affair went on for six years as Canadian officials refused to hand over any prisoner who was charged on a capital offence that could lead to the death penalty. Ng was finally extradited to America on September 26th, 1991 and incarcerated in Sacramento prison while awaiting trial. The Canadian government spent 6 years on the Ng case. This proves that the Canadian government opposes to Lai's deportation, consistent with the practice and policy Canada dealt with US in 1990s. Lai's case has nothing to do with his being Chinese or his access to money. Canadian value is human life. 中国为了能把赖引渡回国，不惜接受别国的法律要求， 真够委屈求全的了，世界上有死刑的国家太多了，我想加拿大如果 足够强大的话，定然让各国都把死刑废除了，不对，应该 让各国实行加国的法律才行。只是不知道那一天什么时候才能到来呢?

赖昌星以小学文化程度，居然做出了上百亿的走私案，人才难得呀 杀了可惜了

现在有何机密可言 把赖昌星引渡回国于中国，于加拿大都有好处！ 现在国家公开承诺不判处他死刑是一共大国形象的体现 以前朱镕基总理也给加拿大总理承诺不判处赖昌星死刑，但是由于种种原因还是没有引渡成功！ 这次成功的几率大了，看看那个SB保守党还拿人权说事。中国这样是不落口实于保守党政府！
