Whether he donated has nothing to do with the emergency case. At least he paid tax. No need to haggle over it. Seem like you really care 100% back while giving 1% or 2% and please don't assume others are the same.
I agree with this opinion, and L36's too. So much query, indissoluble! Why doesn't have insurance, heard that how stingy shanghai people are, but never heard about such cheapskate. He must be kidding us.

I agree with you. Poor people, if they wouldn't want to help, be quiet, rather than write something to make themselves down. It's a shame.

Why? If he had done what he can do and needed further help, it would be an opposite situation. Do you agree? This is a good chance he shows his love to his wife, and to show a power of family spirit. If a man met any trouble and asked other people for help, where and how could we feel the value of love and spirit of family? Canada has a responsible government, he should also try to be a responsible husband.

Well, he might not be able to find a job when in Canada, returned back to Shanghai if there was opportunity there.
It's unexpected life threatening emergency. They didnt do anything wrong to seek public assistance.
Not everybody in Shanghai are rich those days. The majority people there can not afford the inflation in Shanghai. They are young couple. Even if they have a place to live, they must have a big mortgage to pay. Even though their parents have a house, if they sell their home, where to find a place to live. Everywhere in Shanghai are so expensive...... People living there are not that easy .... It's a emergency situation, please show sympathy.
