Can anyone let me know what is 御用大律师?
First, I though that a lawyer is a lawyer. There are not too much differences between them.
Second, my understanding of "御用" is someone work for the authority. This guy apparently isn't.

御用大律师 is the Hong Kong translation of QC: Queen's Counsel, a legacy of Britain law system. This practice was ceased in Ontario in 1985. Nowadays, many of the title holders continue to use it implying they are senior specialist in law area. However, in most cases, still using this title only means that this guy is very old, maybe rich, but definitely out of date.
