NAP will hurt the Chinese community.
I predict NAP will disappear in 18 to 24 months.
If there is some organization behind it, CCP for example, it will live longer I think. At least it will not have any financial problem..
Let's keep our eyes on it.
Let's examine what the Indians have done.
Indians and Chinese share lots of similarities: population size, new immigrants and socio-economic achievements in Canada.
For the past 10 years, Indians did a very successful run, i.e. every Indian joins the Liberal, regardless of their political belief.
After 10 years:
1. There are more elected MPPs from the Indian community than the Chinese community.
2. In some ridings in Toronto and Vancouver, the Indians have long history of tradition - they have built their own territory.
3. The Indians have strong influence of the Liberal Party. No politician takes the risk of ignoring requests from the Indian community.
Chinese community needs solidarity. The short cut is to pick a traditional party to tell them you will have our votes if you look after our interest.

NAP will hurt the Chinese community.
I predict NAP will disappear in 18 to 24 months. If that's the case, the harm to the Chinese community will be minimal.
Unless NAP will earn party status in the Parliament Hill (9 or 12 seats. I can't remember), the goals defined by NAP will not come true. The odds of getting party status is lower than me winning Super 7 jackpots every Friday for a year, i.e. 52 or 53 wins.
NAP will hurt the Chinese community most if it wins a seat or two. If so, NAP will be merged by one of the traditional parties, or be excluded by them. Chinese voice will not be heard by the traditional parties, because we won't give them our votes.

I have copied and pasted from the NAP web site.
If you don't see any problem, your judgement is questionable.
