如何成为一名多伦多的警察?

以下是由多伦多警察局招募部的Felix Tam 警官为大家撰写的文章:

Education has always been valued in the Chinese culture dating back to ancient times when examinations were held for the selection of the civil service. The importance of university education is engraved in the mindset of youngsters by their parents at an early age. As a result, most Chinese grow up aspiring to become accountants, engineers or doctors etc.

Consequently, few Chinese ever consider policing as a career and most have little idea what it has to offer. Movies and television shows further reinforce misconceptions about police work. Fortunately, with the Generation growing up with more social conscience and community involvement, the old idea that police work is for the less educated will diminish over time.

Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world and the Toronto Police Service would like our employees to reflect the demographic.
