省长韦恩：安省新性教育课程 9月实施
安省省长韦恩18日表示，征询意见工作已经完成，安省中小学校的性教育课程内容数周内便会在网上公布，供学生家长们阅读。
韦恩说，已征询过全省4000所中小学家长理事会主席的意见，省政府现在决定于今年9月新学年开始时在安省中小学校推行这套性教育课程。她强调道：“现行的健康和体育课程内容过时了，实际上是严重落后于时代”。
引发韦恩上述言论的是安省保守党籍议员麦克诺顿抨击省政府，本应向更多学生家长征询对性教育课程的意见，不该将咨询对象局限于各校的代表。

麦克诺顿在省议会说，来自学生家长的大量电话、电子邮件和请愿书几乎将他淹没，他们不满征询意见活动将他们排除在外。但他没有对已公开的性教育课程内容中任何内容作出具体批评，他着重认为整个征询意见活动程序失当。
安省教育厅长单杜丝表示，新的性教育课程英语版本已经拟定，目前正在翻译成法语，准备数周内先在网上公布，然后9月在安省中小学校推行。
安省自由党政府最初打算在2010年运用一套经过大幅度修改的性教育课程，但因遭到一些宗教界代表人物反对而在2010年春季半途而废。省政府去年重新著手做这件事，当时单杜丝说， 在当今资讯高度传输高度发展的时代，学生经常从不可靠、不准确的来源取得资讯，“这便是为何现在比以前任何时候都更需要一套确切而合适的健康暨体育课程的原因，也是我们致力于在2015学年将之在省内学校运用的成因”。
单杜丝说的“健康暨体育课程”，实际就是中小学性教育课程，在数年前首次推出这套课程时，自由党省政府便说，教材编写者根据学生年龄逐步向学生介绍性知识，譬如让三年级学生知道同性恋及同性恋者婚姻，六年级学生了解青春发育期及手淫，及让七年级学生了解口交和性传染病等知识，这是省府负责任的做法。
可是，包括宗教界在内的不少持保守立场的团体不接受省政府的做法，强烈要求省政府不要对未成年的孩子侈谈性知识。这些团体认为，省府从小学三年级开始就让学生学习性知识，那些太过赤裸裸的性教学材料，只会毒害年幼孩子的思想。
遭遇外界如此强烈的反对后，当时的安省自由党政府省长麦坚迪2010年春季只好屈服说，民众意见看来是对推行新的性教育课程感到不太舒服，显示出省政府与家长们沟通不够，省政府需要再度研商，因此新学年暂时不使用新的性教育课程。
现在的韦恩领导是一个占据着大多数省议会席位的大多数政府，反对党及宗教界的反对声音无法再阻挡省政府的意志，在省内中小学教授新的性教育课程势在必行。
单杜丝18日称，在省内各中小学的家长理事会主席中，绝大多数赞成这套新课程的内容，他们想要让他们的子女从中得到可靠、准确和及时的资讯。
当初省选时，没想到这一手？！
真的是不长记性，市选时又被大大地忽悠了一把。
选民们搬起石头砸自己的脚，很无奈。

This is criminal! I don't live in Ontario, but I do have family who lives there. The parents of Ontario need to rise up in LOUD protest against this 'control and manipulation' of elementary school - aged children! This sounds criminal to me! If pedophilia is a crime .... shouldn't 'preparing' kids to think perhaps the advances of 'dirty old men' are something to accept also be a CRIME??? WHY is Kathleen Wynne still premier of Ontario?? Teaching young children about sex should be the domain of their PARENTS - NOT the education system!!?
