中国外长访问印度前夕，官方媒体新华社称，印度进入核供应国集团的大门并未完全关闭，新德里应充分理解北京对南海问题的关切。对此，竟然有印度网民脑洞大开称印度总理莫迪是唯一让中国跪下的人。

综合媒体8月15日报道，新华社的一篇社论把印度和中国定义为合作伙伴关系，而不是竞争对手。“北京和新德里进入高级别外交会晤的季节，这些会晤能很好地定义两国合作伙伴关系的未来，双方应共同致力于化解分歧。”
