多伦多女子凭一张假驾照骗得130万元按揭贷款

多伦多市一名女子涉嫌将不属于自己的物业抵押给银行,成功骗取贷款130万元后消失无踪,而真正的业主则收到银行发来的按揭文件,立即联系银行及报警。

警方日前公布该女子的照片,呼吁公众提供线索,协助破案。

据CP24报道,这间被抵押的房屋位于安省Woodbridge。

警方称,案件发生在2016年1月,当时一位代表该女子的按揭中介向银行取得物业的二次按揭。

负责调查此案的金融犯罪探员Adkin Holder说,该名女子用一张安省驾照,伪造受害业主的信息,同时使用自己的照片,谎称自己是业主。

该女子也伪造了一份物业工程置留权(construction lien)文件,该置留权被登记在土地注册处,作为申请按揭的理由,她指有公司在该物业上进行了施工,按揭贷款是用于取消工程置留权。

从银行取得贷款后,这笔贷款就被登记在了该物业上,而贷到的资金由地产律师转账给了一间以数字为名称的公司。

当该物业的实际业主收到银行寄来的按揭文件时,立即向银行报告这是按揭诈骗,银行方面才报了警。

目前,警方只掌握了该女子的照片,仍在收集其他证据和线索。

警方同时也在寻找代替该女子联络银行的按揭中介,该中介的身份已经确定,但是地址却不详。

目前还不清楚这个中介是否是与该女子串谋,也不清楚他们是否还在加拿大境内。

好在受害的房屋业主有业主保险(title insurance),所以不必承担这笔损失。

据报道,此案最初于去年报告给约克区警方,上周刚刚由多伦多警局接手。

探员Holder解释,另有一宗案件与此案有关联,但是拒绝透露更多细节。

据称,自去年以来,多伦多警方已经调查了15-20宗按揭诈骗案,一些案件需要花2年时间才能侦破。

但凡这种物业TITLE的诈骗,基本上是银行或者房屋保险公司的内鬼当导演,信不信由你,你的按揭一还清,诈骗集团就拿到你的信息了。反正我的物业是还清一个就买个TITLE保险,小心驶得万年船。

在加拿大发生这样的事真令人不可思议,去银行开个户都需要出示两张带照片的证件,按揭贷款一张假驾照就能骗的了银行?俺觉得这事银行应该负全责
