加拿大总理杜鲁多于10月4日发表下列贺词，庆祝中秋佳节：

“今日，我与华裔、韩裔、日裔以及越南裔的加拿大人一起，共同庆祝中秋佳节。

中秋节也称月亮节(Moon Festival)，在每年阴历的八月十五、月亮最圆最皎洁之时庆祝。值此佳节，正是庆祝丰收之时，感恩一年的成功之时。

值此佳节，也是家庭和至爱亲朋团聚共庆、张灯结彩、相互送上美好祝福和礼物、分享月饼之时。满月当空，亦是情圆人团圆之时，象征着家庭团圆。

因为多元化，加拿大成为一个更加强健而繁荣的国家。在庆祝建国150周年之际，我们更珍惜众多的文化族裔和社区，他们同建加拿大这个如此美好的家园。

索菲和我谨代表我们全家，向所有庆祝中秋节的人们恭祝：中秋快乐。”

The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival:

“Today, I join Canadians of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese heritage to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

“Also known as the Moon Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest and brightest. It symbolizes a good harvest, and is a time to give thanks for the year’s successes.

“On this occasion, families and loved ones join together to light lanterns, exchange greetings and gifts, and share mooncakes. The festival is also a moment to celebrate the round moon, which represents family unity.

“Canada is a stronger and more prosperous country because of its diversity. As we mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation, we continue to honour the many cultures and communities that make Canada such a wonderful place to live.

“On behalf of our family, Sophie and I wish all those celebrating a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.”
