在成为Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill选区的议员之前，Alleslev曾经是加拿大空军军官，高级经理和企业家。曾在国防部担任领导职务，在IBM Canada和Bombardier Aerospace担任高级管理职务。

Prior to becoming the Member of Parliament for Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill, Leona was a Canadian Air Force Officer, senior manager, and entrepreneur. She held leadership positions in the Department of National Defence, senior managerial roles with IBM Canada and Bombardier Aerospace. Leona also owned and operated two small-businesses with her husband Ted; an eco-tourism business in Temagami, and a custom closet and ‎home organization company in Aurora. She earned a B.A. (Honours) in History and Political Science from the Royal Military College of Canada and received her Queen’s Commission to serve as an Air Force Logistic Officer. Leona has lived across Canada but Leona now calls Oak Ridges her home, where she has lived for the past 15 years with her husband and their two children.

We must elect a Conservative Government under the strong federal leadership of Andrew Scheer and a qualified team of competent Conservative MPs from across Canada. It is critical that we work towards the following priorities to ensure that the Canada of tomorrow is better than today:

· Competitive Economy and Quality Jobs for Canadians – working to ensure Canada has a competitive edge in the global market to boost our economy and create quality jobs for Canadians

· Comprehensive tax reform - modernize Canada’s corporate, personal and small business tax structure to reflect the economy and society of today

· A real plan to protect the environment that does more than just reduce GHG emissions through a Carbon Tax. It must also include measures to increase energy efficiency, conserve clean water, and invest in green technology for Canada to become a global centre of environmental excellence. Canada’s approach to combatting climate change must find the appropriate balance between protecting the environment and preserving our economy.

· Foreign policy – ensure strong federal leadership that understands diplomacy is critical to maintaining strong international relationships and trade agreements that strengthen Canada’s economy

· Implement an immigration system that is fair, orderly, and compassionate

· Improve Canada’s defence capabilities by land, sea and air to ensure that the Canadian Armed Forces are equipped and prepared to protect Canadian sovereignty, and contribute to the strength of our alliances and the security of our allies.

· Nation-Building – unite our country to deliver the foundational change needed to implement critical infrastructure projects, such as a strong Artic strategy and a Canada wide digital communication network, to ensure future economic growth and prosperity for all Canadians.
