海外网10月31日电2015年，美国科罗拉多州的一处房屋在警察和武装嫌犯之间19小时的枪战中被摧毁，联邦上诉法院10月29日判定，当地警察局无需赔偿房主的财产损失。
综合美国福克斯新闻网、《丹佛邮报》报道，美国第十巡回上诉法院的法官维持了下级法院的判决，判定科罗拉多州格林伍德政府不必给予房主利奥·莱赫任何额外赔偿，尽管闯入他家的嫌犯对他来说是个陌生人。
莱赫的房房价值58万美元，2015年，一个携带武器的盗窃嫌疑人为躲避警察追击，闯入了这个房子。在嫌犯拒绝投降向警察开枪后，双方展开了激烈交火，特警队部署了催泪瓦斯和爆炸物，并用装甲车破坏了这个建筑。
“这彻底摧毁了我们的生活，”房主莱赫说：“在文明社会，政府机关摧毁人民的家，把人‘扔’到街头，无论什么情况下都是不可接受的，这是底线。”
据报道，莱赫当时把房子租给了儿子约翰，约翰和女友以及女友的儿子住在那里，事发时他们都不在家。当地政府最初向莱赫支付了5000美元的临时生活补助。事情发生后，约翰搬进了父母家，他女朋友的儿子也不得不转学。
莱赫称，保险公司给他支付了34.5万美元的损失赔偿金，但这一数额不足以支付个人财产损失、房屋拆除、重建以及新房屋抵押贷款等费用。
律师雷切尔·马克萨姆表示，保险公司愿意赔偿已经很不可思议了。“保险是针对火灾、洪水的。没有‘警察炸毁我的房子’保险。”莱赫隔壁的一栋房子遭受了约7万美元的损失，保险公司没有赔偿。
法院判决称，警察是以合法行动逮捕嫌疑人的，因此警察局和政府对此次财产损害不承担责任。
莱赫表示，他计划向最高法院上诉。
有网友称，支持执法，但这种情况是不可接受的。
“为房主感到难过，相同的事随时可能发生在任何人身上！”网友说。
有网友表示，希望最高法改判，保险公司不该付这个钱。
也有人持反对意见：“你作为纳税人，愿意出钱维修他的房子吗，纳税人不欠他的。”（海外网 周璇）

imagine this happened in another country..... for example, part of china, hong kong, what would people say? will they say police were "too violent", or "overly abuse police power"? no, i don't think so.
"this could happen to anybody at any time." true indeed.
in my opinion, of course taxpayers owe this house owner. this is an example of individual private pay for the cost of public safety, which was supposed being paid by public resource, which of course is tax money government collected for public use. when the government deals with those criminals who are threatening general public, the government pay for catching them, jailing them and trying them. should anybody individually pay any of those costs? of course not except those being responsible for the crime. this guy was totally innocent. none of his family members was even in that house at the time. they didn't invite that criminal into their home. if they did, they might have to take responsibility to certain extend. but they were not. therefore they shouldn't but the government pay for all this accident.
and, it's not something insurance company should pay for either. it's not covered by insurance policy, why the insurance company should pay anything?
this is absurd.
