美国中文网报道 据马里兰警方表示，周四，史密斯堡镇(Smithsburg)发生大规模枪击事件。据悉，事发地点在Сolumbia Machine factory。目前已知多人遭到枪击死亡。枪手已不再是威胁。
据当地媒体报道，美东时间下午2点半左右，一名枪手在一间制造工厂内开火。
马里兰州长霍根对媒体确认，枪击已造成3人死亡。当地警方指，另有4人在枪击中受伤。
据报道，枪手在逃窜的过程中被警方车辆追逐并撞上。枪手曾向警方开火，造成警员受伤。之后警方还击，射中枪手，枪手已送医治疗。FBI也已介入调查。

史密斯堡是马里兰北部靠近与宾州交界地区的一个小城，据华盛顿DC约60英里。另外，事发地距离戴维营（Camp David）仅8英里；戴维营是总统休假地。不过目前没有证据显示这起枪击与戴维营有任何关系。
近1个月来全美已发生多起大规模枪击案件，令全社会震惊，同时也引发新的一波控枪呼声。
