2011年，哈利王子（Prince Harry）与妻子举行婚礼当天，6名小花童都没有穿着裤袜。《每日邮报》(Daily Mail Online)21日报导，英国传记作家鲍尔（Tom Bower）在新书《复仇：梅根、哈利和与英国王室之间的战争》（Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors）中透露，当年凯特认为还是要依循传统穿上紧身裤袜，并认为夏绿蒂的裙摆太短，显得不合身。

早前英国哈利王子（Prince Harry）和妻子梅根（Meghan Markle）脱英后，大方接受知名脱口秀主持人欧普拉独家专访，提到丝袜传闻伤了家人和气，梅根大吐怨言声称“大嫂让我哭了…但他事后买了花，上面附了纸条向我道歉”。对此梅根没有做出回应，传闻说她感到非常受伤。
鲍尔在新书终将梅根形容成“一枚未爆弹以及控制狂”，他表示来源集结了80位知情人士，大部分都不喜欢梅根，因为她曾警告亲密友人不要接近我。
