印度雨季降下大暴雨，导致北部多个省大淹水，至今至少酿成22人死亡，喜马偕尔省（Himachal Pradesh）灾情尤其严重，洪水冲断多座桥梁，当地有数百年历史的知名古老寺庙泡水，下方建筑体“几乎灭顶”。
综合英国《卫报》（The Guardian）、半导电视台（Al Jazeera）等报导，印度雨季降下大暴雨，造成北印度地区山洪暴发、土石坍方，光是9日，喜马偕尔省、北阿坎德省（Uttarakhand）、北方省（Uttar Pradesh）、查摩与克什米尔（Jammu and Kashmir）及旁遮普省（Punjab）的洪水及土石流就酿成22人丧命。

喜马偕尔省、北阿坎德省政府呼吁民众非必要不要出门，首都新德里也大淹水，昨（9）日降下153毫米雨量，是40年来7月单日最高降雨量，城市中多个区域水深及膝。
多山的喜马偕尔省灾情尤其严重，当地多个地区周末降下一个月的雨量。
另据《印度斯坦时报》（Hindustan Times）、“India.com”报导，暴雨及洪水冲断当地多座桥梁，其中包含马恩迪（Mandi）地区历史悠久的潘奇瓦克特拉桥（Panchvaktra bridge），这座桥梁连接座落于河中的潘奇瓦克特拉寺（Panchvaktra temple）。
根据印度旅行社“Tour My India”介绍，潘奇瓦克特拉寺位在苏凯蒂河（Rivers Suketi）及比亚斯河（Beas River）的交会处，寺庙本身矗立于一座大平台上，每年吸引全国各地民众朝圣，目前尚不清楚寺庙建造日期，不过过去记载，寺庙曾在西元1684至1727年间修复过，是历史相当悠久的寺庙，目前已被归类为印度国家遗址。

印度气象局预测，未来几天北印度仍会降下更多雨量。
报导指出，每年南亚地区的雨季会降下全年70-80%雨量，山洪暴发造成严重灾情与死伤，原本这时期的雨势就难以预测，且变化很大，科学家警告，气候变迁导致雨季更变化多端。
