安省旅游局10月19日枫叶颜色变化报告

根据安省旅游局10月19日即时更新的枫叶颜色变化报告,安省北部地区的赏枫季节结束,中部8成枫叶已经飘落,东部地区最佳赏枫时段刚刚过去,南部尼亚加拉瀑布地区的枫叶仍然还有些看头。

北部地区

安省北部地区的赏枫季节已经结束。

中部地区

从 Parry Sound 到白求恩故乡 Muskoka 等地区的枫叶在秋风之下近8成已经飘落, 赏枫时段业已过去。

Barrie、Orillia、Midland 直到Wasaga Beach 地区75%的树叶已经飘落,但Collingwood 地区,尤其Scenic Caves 周围,仍然能够看到很美的枫叶,而爬到Blue Mountain 的顶部,更能欣赏到令人难以置信的枫叶景观。

东部地区

Ottawa 地区的最佳赏枫时段刚刚过去,40%多的枫叶已经飘落,不过在有些地方仍可看到黄色、橘黄色,其中点缀亮丽的红色的枫叶景观,沿Rideau Canal 运河步行或是骑单车旅行可以尽情领略沿途美景。

从Pembroke 经Renfrew、Arnprior 到Ottawa Valley,其黄金赏枫时段刚刚过去,近70%枫叶飘落,但有些地方仍可以欣赏到亮黄色、橘黄色以及红色;在渥太华与多伦多的之间的Kingston 到更东一点的Cornwall,枫叶变化不是特别明显,颜色也谈不上亮丽悦目。

南部地区

尼亚加拉瀑布地区的枫叶有一半已经变色,虽然绿色仍然处处可见,但黄色和橘黄愈来愈多,而且也愈来愈亮。从安省著名旅游小镇Niagara on the Lake 到Fort Erie传统上一直是深受人们喜爱的赏枫景点。

大多地区东最佳赏枫时段也差不多过去,但仍然可以看到黄色、橘黄和鲜红为主的枫叶景观;落叶也越来越多。

Northern Ontario Region

The fall colour season has now come to an end across the Northern Ontario region.

Central Ontario Region

The Parry Sound region across to Muskoka sees the fall colour season winding down with close to 80% leaf fall. There are some small areas of bright red, yellow and orange remaining. Views from the observation decks at the fire tower lookouts at Parry Sound and Dorset are outstanding in the fall, along with the Lion’s Lookout in Huntsville. The Haliburton area has about 40% leaf fall with some small pockets of dull orange and yellow remaining. Buttermilk Falls, along Highway 35, north of Minden is an excellent viewing location during the fall colour season. The Kawartha Lakes region is reporting about 90% leaf fall and the fall colour season has now come to an end.

The Barrie, Orillia, Midland and across to Wasaga Beach area is showing the remaining colours generally dull with about 75% leaf fall. The Horseshoe Valley region, north east of Barrie is still offering some small areas of orange and yellow. The Collingwood area offers some ideal fall colour viewing locations especially around the Scenic Caves. The area is reporting the remaining colour generally dull, at this time, with 70% leaf fall. The view from the suspension bridge at Scenic Caves, at the top of Blue Mountain, is always incredible but especially nice during the fall.

Ottawa Region

The Ottawa region reports the colours now past peak with about 40% leaf fall in the area. There are still some nice areas of yellow, orange and red remaining. A walk or bike ride along the Rideau Canal and the many parkland areas of Ottawa offers an excellent fall colour experience.

Eastern Ontario Region

The colour is well past peak in the Pembroke area across to Renfrew to Arnprior and into the Ottawa Valley region, with 70% leaf fall. There are small patches of dull orange, red and yellow remaining. A fall colour drive along the 1000 Island Parkway is always popular during the fall season. The Prince Edward County area is reporting the colours well past peak with small areas of dull yellow and orange and 60% leaf fall. The region east to Kingston and further east to Cornwall is reporting the remaining colours are dull and there is a 40% leaf fall.

South-western Ontario Region

The Owen Sound region reports the colour is now well past peak with considerable leaf fall. Inglis Falls and Harrison Park in the Owen Sound area still offer patches of red, gold and orange. The drive north of Owen Sound on Grey County Road 1 between Owen Sound and Wiarton is always nice during the fall. The Beaver Valley region south of Thornbury reports the colours now well past peak with muted brown, red and yellow remaining. Hockley Valley, east of Orangeville is reporting about 50% leaf fall with some areas of dull orange and yellow. There are several excellent lookout locations in the Beaver Valley as you approach the village of Kimberley from the south on Grey County Road 13. The Forks of the Credit Provincial Park near Belfountain offers beautiful walking trails. There is still some good fall colour viewing on the 3rd line of Mono Township (Hockley Valley Road).

The Elora and Fergus area is reporting the fall colour season is coming to an end with 90% leaf fall. The Royal Botanical Gardens, in the Burlington and Hamilton regions is reporting a 70% colour change with muted yellows and some oranges along with significant leaf fall. However there is considerable leaf fall in the area as well. The area along the eastern shoreline of Lake Huron in the Goderich, Bayfield region has seen the colour advance to a 90% colour change with about 50% leaf fall. Muted rusts and yellows are the dominant colours with some splashes of orange. There is a 40% colour change in the Sarnia region, mostly yellow with some splashes of orange and red. The region is also experiencing significant leaf fall. There is just a 10% colour change in the Essex, Kingsville and Point Pelee areas.

Niagara Falls Region

There is a 50% colour change in the Niagara Peninsula. The colours are getting brighter in the Niagara Region with pockets of burnt orange, yellow and still lots of green for contrast. The Niagara Parkway from Niagara on the Lake through to Fort Erie is always a very popular fall colour location, especially the view to the north along the Niagara River from the Brock Monument lookout at Queenston. The country roads through the wine region of the Peninsula are offering some nice colour as well at this time.

Greater Toronto Region

The colours are now past peak in the Toronto area however we still have lots of muted yellows along with some orange and bright red throughout the region. The Toronto region is also starting to see considerable leaf fall as well.
