Write or Call CBC and Major Media
It is not surprising that the major media such as CBC did not report this news in their website, or TV news. Same day, over 5000 Chinese protested in Sydney Australia. Did you see media coverage on this event? NO!
It is of little use for us to write here. I urge everyone call or email CBC, Toronto Star, Globe Mail etc asking them to stop biased report. Ask them why the protesting with 60,000 Canadian in Parliament Hills on Sundy is not worth the news? Give them pressure and ask they why!
I called them, and posted messages, email CBC, requesting them to be ethical journalists, report balanced story, and not "cover" the news from all Canadians. Let join our efforts!

Games no place for politics: Rally
Chinese-Canadians take protest to

After weeks of pro-Tibet rallies across Canada, more than 5,000 Chinese-Canadians demonstrated on Parliament Hill yesterday to call for an end to the politicizing of the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing.
The rally protested the violence happening in the Tibet region and also that the Summer Games are being mixed up with politics, according to Adam Wang, a spokesman for the event that was also meant to show support for the “One China” policy — a principle that mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Tibet and Taiwan are all part of China.
Derek Chin, a Carleton University commerce student who came from China five years ago, was holding a sign that read “Politics out of Olympics.”
“The news these days are all about people around the world that attacked the torch relay. We need to show support to the Olympic Games because no politics should be involved in the Olympic games. The Games are for the whole world. That’s the slogan we have, one world one dream. I don’t think any people or organization should show any kind of political involvement.”
Wang said the One China policy is a view taken by more than 100 countries, including Canada.
“The message from our community is that China is changing — economically, politically and from a human rights standpoint — for the better,” Wang said. “China is getting more important on the world stage of politics and economy.”
For the most part, the non-Chinese community is well informed on the issues, he said. “But we’re hoping this rally will give them more information. We’re hoping to raise awareness so that people can understand the other side of the story.”
Kai Shen said western media has been biased against China.
“You need to understand the history of Tibet and China before you decide,” said the Ottawa chemist. “Without that knowledge, you cannot say anything.

I spent sometime on the forum trying to do some fact checking with them. Soon I realized that they were not that interested in facts . They seemed to want to use this rally as a demonstration of the power of immigrants from PRC. Some of them might have political ambition in Canadian politics.
That is a little concerning to me as if all the new immigrants from China hear whence they arrive is the Western media and politicians are biased and discriminatory, they might be more segregated from the rest of society.
The fact is western media didn't tell the truth and most of them even told the lies. If only reporting anti-chinese protest couldn't be called biased, then tell me whatelse can be?

Murray Maccallum

We absolutely have every right to have this rally no matter we understand Canadian cultural valuses(if there is one) or not. Of cause the media also have their own rights to choose what they like to report. But by doing so, don’t blame the Chinese government when they do the same thing next time.
You absolutely have rights and courage rallying in Canada and you absolutely have no right and courage rallying in China.
Absolutelythe media have rights to decide what should be reported in Canada and absolutely media have no rights to report what have not been approved by CCP in China.

This is another bias against Chinese people. Why have they never questioned those Tibetan where their fund come from?
