learning and understanding other culture is neccessary. For a certain persition, you may respresent their culture, so you need to learn and adopt to their culture and show our respect. But that doesn't mean we have to discard or despite our own culture.

What do you think and feel when you see indian people wearing long white and colorful dress and those white cap on the street? What are those white socks made for and when is the right occassion to wear them? I like white socks only, though. I have to sacrifice my favorite to please other people? suck. And who make this rule? Why Everybody has to follow this rule? is it a law or what? If we just follow every rule set up by somebody before, there would be nothing new in this world.

At Bloor and Christie,

Miss, how many 外国人 do you know? Do those "外国人" you know can represent "几乎所有外国人"? If your friends do really "排斥" "中国人吃饭端起碗或盘子的习惯", their heads have problem. Miss, when your friends say those, do you use your head? After I read your article, I called two of my 外国人 friends and asked them, they don't think as your friends do. They respect our culture and differences. They are taught not to hold bowl up when they drink soup or broth since they are kids, whereas, my chopsticks would be hit if I didn't hold my bowl when i was little and was scolded that was not polite. Which way is better or right? I did some experiments: drinking broth without holding and bringing the bowl up close to my mouth, the broth drip back into the bowl and splash onto the table. Now I want you to try to eat rice from your bowl with your chopsticks without bringing up your bowl, and grasp vegetable from another big bowl or dish and direct to your mouth, what it would like? Miss, remember, half of chinese eat rice, and a lot of them eat nuddle (long and dangling and dripping). try to eat them like a white, and see what it look like? which way is better or more civilized? All different races and ethnicities have there own values, beliefs, customs and their rationales to act in a certain way. There's no bad and good or wright and wrong issues. Your friend need to learn to respect other culture. And you too, you need to identify your own values and beleif and you need to learn to respect yourself but not just copy others and label different as bad or ugly. May have grammer or spelling mistake, hope you guys can help to point out. Thank you
