超过10家华社联名 争取联邦财政支持
超过10家大多伦多地区华裔移民服务中心8日联合表示，希望联邦政府正视华裔移民结构的变化，帮助超过30万从中国大陆来安省 定居的华裔移民熟悉本地社会。
加拿大福建总商会理事长陈天财表示，在过去10多年来，华裔移民的结构已经发生巨大变化，从中国大陆来安省定居的移民已经超过30万，而这个群体因为一直得不到应有的服务而导致一系列的社会问题，比如高失业率、青年犯罪、家庭暴力、用非所学、因不了解法律及财务知识而引起的违规行为。
陈天财表示，正在接受政府拨款的新移民服务机构没有对国语小区新移民有足够的认识，未能直接有效的服务，而国语新移民小区的社团却因为没有得到政府的财政支持，得不到应有的服务。
活动当天也公布了一份问卷调查，显示有64%的国语新移民没有得到移民机构的服务，93%的国语新移民不满意目前的新移民服务机构，82%的人认为应该有相同社会、 语言、文化背景的机构服务自己的群体，86%的人赞成政府应该拨款给国语小区的服务机构。
陈天财还表示，已经多次向联邦政府反映这个问题，但是却没有得到任何回复，继续这样下去，华裔小区只能以大型示威游行的办法来抗议政府的无视。
出席活动的多伦多小区文化中心总监钟新生表示，大陆移民的文化、社会、法律、财务背景与一些提供新移民服务的机构不同，造成被服务的过程中，一方面因为双方不了解而浪费资源，另一方面就是很多人根本难以获得服务。所以在这一前提下，虽然很多国语社团自费成立的国语新移民服务机构可以暂时帮助个别新移民过渡适应，但都不是长久之计，真心希望政府可以听取国语移民的心声，给予帮助。

Thanks for reading my message. Yes, we need one Chinese Candian who is capable of building a strong Chinese Community! But not those 小老板 to build up their own benefit by using all Chinese immigrants.

After I tasted what's "Hopeless and helpless", I tried my best to help any new immigrant, but not those rich Immigrants for Canadian Benefit.

N years ago, I was a brand new immigrant. My boss asked me to work one day per week right away after I informed them I was pregnant?! My job is safe for pregancy and my pregnancy would not affect my job (customer services). I went to one 华裔移民服务中心 on Finch. They told me to bring with my passport and they will help me out. The first thing they hurry to do is copy my passport and told me to sign on the form. After that, the lady told me "We have nothing to do and your boss is not against the law because he has not fired you"!!! My goodness. This is called HELPING ME OUT!!!! But they won as They have copied my passport and get my signature so they are safe to claim the money from the government! I was desperately upset and hopeless, helpless!!! They are there only claim money from government by using 移民 name and signature. In my case, who can tell me they were already help me out?? I was crying and took a bus to one library and requested to borrow some labour law book and helped myself out. The librian noted down my contact info. and tried to get me the most update one, She did it.
If I expected "We have nothing to do, your boss is not against the law" do you think I need to go there? or do you think they should copy my passport and collect my signature?? NO. Because they are not helping me with anything, if they don't know, they should send me to somebody who should know or give me a list of organization which may help.
So many years has passed, this still in my mind. I am wrirting to tell all these移民服务中心. Please really help immigrant with your heart and knowledge when you claim the money to keep you employed! If you don't know what to do, how to do, where to get help, please get out of 移民服务中心.
