子女及妹遭枪杀 妇女吁庄德利全力灭罪
当26岁的罗奇(Jamal Roache)上周四晚在多市西区被人连轰8枪丧生﹐他的母亲不单为一名儿子被枪杀而悲痛﹐而是3名﹐因为罗奇已是她的第三个被枪杀死的子女﹔这还不止﹐她的妹妹在十多年前也是中枪而死的。
由于案发地区枪击案严重﹐该区一个反暴力组织昨天呼吁新当选市长的庄德利(John Tory) 与省府共同努力﹐减少暴力罪案。
对于被枪械暴力所造成的创痛﹐相信难有人比罗奇的母亲卡萝尔(Carol Roache)更清楚。她先感受到这种伤痛是在十多年前﹐她的妹妹奥德丽(Audrey)是她家族中最先被枪杀死的亲人。
警方上周四晚在枪杀案现场调查。

到了2002年3月﹐她的18岁女儿Chemere与男朋友站在一间夜总会外面时﹐被枪击中头部死亡。在该宗枪击案中﹐警方拘捕了4人。
Chemere出殡时﹐卡萝尔的儿子Yannick有份扶灵。但是到了当年的圣诞前夕﹐Yannick亦步其姐姐后尘﹐被枪杀死。
Yannick死后﹐卡萝尔在警方安排的记者会上﹐呼吁杀人者自首。她情绪激动的说﹕“那两名杀死我儿子的人﹐你将无处可逃无处可避。”而在上周五﹐她又作出了同样的呼吁。
上周六警方发放了一段保安录像﹐显示一名男子从一辆深色的本田思域上跳下来﹐向罗奇乱枪扫射﹐连轰6至8枪﹐跟着跳上车﹐高速离开﹐手法干净俐落。案发地点是怡陶碧谷以北﹐基尔街(Keele Street)夹Sheppard Ave.大道(Sheppard Avenue)地区一个露天小商场。
多市西区北约克这个地区﹐因为枪案累累﹐早已被标签为多市的罪案黑点﹐该地区的反暴力母亲组成一个“母亲联合起来反对任何地方暴力”(United Mothers Opposing Violence Everywhere)组织﹐她们昨天向候任市长庄德利发出呼吁。其成员谢泼德(Audette Shephard)说﹐希望新市长能够与省府合作﹐改变社区这种现象。谢泼德的儿子于2001年也死于枪下。
庄德利的代表昨天立即向传媒发出声明﹐指庄德利会立即推动联邦政府管制过境非法枪械﹐以及努力为年轻人创造更多的机会。

TORONTO - Jamal Roache was only 15 when his older sister and brother were gunned down nine months apart in horrific shootings that both made headlines.
Now a dozen years later, at 26, he has met a similar fate and becomes the third sibling in the Roache family to die by bullets.

Roache’s mother was busy making funeral plans Saturday and wasn’t able to talk about her son’s murder — the third child she must now bury.
On Mar. 20, 2002, her daughter Chemere “Crystal” Roache was outside a Rexdale nightclub when she was caught in a hail of bullets believed to be meant for her boyfriend.
The 18-year-old was sitting behind the wheel of her car outside the Apollo on Racine Rd., near Kipling Ave. and Rexdale Blvd., when her boyfriend, who was standing next to her vehicle, became embroiled in an argument around 1:30 a.m.
Four men drew their guns and opened fire.
Crystal, who was shot in the head in the melee, sped off in her car and crashed into a tree 100 metres away.
Her boyfriend suffered a minor gunshot wound to his leg.
Nine months later, on Christmas Eve of 2002, Yannick Antwon Roache, who had just turned 18, was shot to death at a North York highrise in front of his girlfriend and her two young sons, aged 3 years and 2 months.
The trio had just exited a taxi around 6:30 p.m. and he was strapping the eldest boy into his stroller when two men approached.
There was a brief exchange of words, then one of the men pulled out a gun and fired. He collapsed in a pool of blood as his girlfriend and her kids watched in horror.
Three siblings, all killed violently.
