据联合国安全保障部初步证实，共有19名联合国系统机构的工作人员在此次埃塞俄比亚航空飞机坠毁事故中丧生。

据外交部领事保护中心11日消息，埃航失事客机上8名遇难中国公民身份初步确认，4人为中国公司员工，2人为联合国系统国际职员（包括1名香港居民），另2人分别来自辽宁和浙江，为因私出行。

据环球网消息，部分联合国工作人员搭乘此次航班是为了参加3月11日在内罗毕开幕的第四届联合国环境大会。

联合国秘书长安东尼奥·古特雷斯（António Guterres）对在此次事故中所有罹难人员（包括联合国的工作人员）以及他们的家属朋友们表示哀悼。
