烈市华裔学生获全国作文比赛二等奖赢1万奖金
面向四、五、六年级学生的加拿大全国写作比赛“家的意义”(Meaning of Home)比赛结果近日揭晓,来自多伦多4年级学生Ines、6年级学生Nyra和来自Victoria6年级学生 Nathan3人获头奖,他们分别为各自所在的社区赢得3万加币的善款,用于当地Habitat for Humanity的建设。

据yorkregion.com报道,来自列治文山的华裔6年级学生Natalie Zhou获二等奖,她也是约克区唯一一名获奖者,为社区赢得1万加币的善款。

本次比赛共有超过10,200名学生参加,创下历史纪录。

据报道,每名参赛的学生还为自己的地区赢得了10加币善款。受新冠疫情大流行的影响,许多人陷入财务危机,这些奖金(共计超过28万加币)将用于帮助那些有住房困难的人,建造一个可以称之为“家”的安全避风港。

It's not fair to be living on streets?
Then you shall also say: it's not fair someones are so rich while so many are so poor...
And you shall ask:
They are young and abled but why they don't work.
They are getting benefit from the gov. and why they still ask for money.
No one force them to use drug and once you are there you shall take your own responsibility.
No one else shall be blamed.
No unfairness here...
emm....maybe too harsh by saying "zero talent", hurtful words for this kid.
You can give her all the love for being kind. Giving her a prize for writing is - sorry to say this and i know truth hurts in some cases - an educational misconduct as you are essentially set bad bad examples for kids.
