林枫:民众对Bell公司的意见多多

自《多伦多都市报》第24期发表了《Bell电话公司这么做合理吗?》一文后,编辑部的电话响个不停,更让笔者所惊讶的,是不少读者都有过如吴先生的经历。

一位60多岁的费姓老人在给编辑的来信中说,他们使用Bell电话已经八年了,今年夏天开始,他们的帐单出现了乱收费的现象。但无论他们怎样投诉,多收的钱就是不退回。令他们更气愤的,是投诉归投诉,错收现象依然固我。这位老人最后这样说:“我们已是六十岁的老人,身边没有任何子女或亲友,年老患有高血压等病症。每次收到错误的帐单时就开始血压升高,因为太气愤。每次在致电Bell询问后,血压就升得更高。我们真担心会因为此事而给Bell气死。我们特此给贵报去文简单反映我们的遭遇,至今我们还保留着每次与Bell服务人员(包括他们的supervisor)通话的时间、内容和confirmation number等。希望贵报能帮我们申诉,万一今后我们为此事有什么不测,到时贵报也可以作为我们的见证人。”

另一位不愿意公开姓名的读者说,他的一位租客曾向Bell申请上网服务,后来Bell就将调制解调器(Modem)寄过来了,此时他的租客已搬往别处,当他将Bell的设备退回去时,电话公司的服务部门坚持不收回设备,无论他怎样解释,最后还是收了他270元,对此他深感不平,却也无可奈何。

Bell电话公司的服务是否存在问题,当然不能凭三五个人的投诉来定性,不过,这也不等于说明,Bell电话公司的服务没有问题。不断的投诉,令笔者想起以前父母说过的一句老话,假如有一个人讨厌你,你可以不理睬;假如有两个以上的人都表示讨厌你,那你真有可能是个讨厌的人;要是大家都讨厌你,那你更应该检讨一下自己了。

对于劣质服务,我们是忍受,还是反抗,从读者电邮给编辑的十多个投诉案例来看,结果很显然。一位曾与某公司有过争拗的读者说:他曾将他的个案写给CITY TV,结果问题得到了解决,他建议读者可以发电子邮件到[email protected]或通过政府部门投诉,甚至可以通过www.bbb.org获得应有的帮助。

对于读者热心的指引,笔直表示感谢。我们希望,既然没有人封你的嘴,既然你是这个国家的主人,你应该发声。

我和bell也有2年多关于上网问题的惨痛纠缠,不堪回首,说起来一叵布长, 不说也罢。每次打电话,我真是对Bell接电话的用骂的,不知它们还想不想在多伦多混了?虽然我们是华语社群,但也不用摄于他们主流大公司的淫威之下,每一个不公平的case都应和他们理论到底,媒体曝光,律师交涉,直到Bell倒闭或改变为止。现在我要是听到有人cold call跟我推荐bell有什么优惠计划要我用,我竟然都会血压直飚。我在想,像我这么一个本性宽容的人,怎么会被Bell逼成这样了?唉!我真是了解和他们纠缠的时间,金钱,精力上的代价,希望Bell不要再害人!!!

自从安装电话, BELL就将我的电话号码和姓名印到了电话号码本上,这等于公布了我的个人信息; 从此招来无数次推销广告的骚扰.有的在晚上11左右还给你打电话;有时刚睡下就被推销的电话惊醒,搅的你几乎一夜都难以入眠. 我问过 BELL 公司:为什么不经过我们的同意就将个人的电话号码刊登在电话号码本上? 我想取消应如何办理? 没想到对方说:那是自动刊登上去的,想取消, 得付费!!!一年需付多少刀,我记不清了,因为我听到他们的回答时,已经气得不知道东南西北了.天下还有如此不讲理的事情吗???!!! 我不明白BELL的作法是不是合法的? 难道我不同意公开我的个人信息还要付费吗?难道我不希望再受电话骚扰,还要向BELL交钱吗???!!! 恳请各位指教.谢谢了!

我刚来就与贝尔打交道,2个礼拜,5个电话才搞定。我觉得它是个垃圾。自此我就停用bell服务。

Noticed that there were some discussions about the terrible experiences with Bell Phone Service on this BBS before. Never thought it would happen to myself. Well, Nightmare came !!! Several months ago, we were thinking to move to another house in the same city. So we called Bell to see whether we can keep the same phone number, the answer was no. That was fine. Days later, we called again and told Bell that we will move and see what the number we will get. At this point, the nightmare started!!! The new phone number we would have ended with the two digits that most of the Chinese don't like. So I said to the Rep.(male) then that we didn't like this number, and could we have another choice? The answer was: " I knew your people don't like this number, but I am sorry, this is the number you are going to get!....Unless you pay extra dollar to get another number." I was so pissed. You know why? Please notice, I didn't tell him which digit I don't like. However, he perfectly knows Chinese culture. I won't say he intentionally picked that number for me, but his answer, tone and attitude really made me mad. Conversation with him continued; I asked him whether I would get the different phone number if I call in several days later. (Because I was thinking someone else might take this number soon). He purred: " ...this number will be waiting for you, and even, this number is taken, it is highly possible that you would still get those digits...". I immediately finished the talking with him, and told him I would terminate the phone service with Bell. Note: Later on that day, I was told by another Bell Rep.(a much nice lady), she said to me I could try to call on different days to see whether there is a good number coming up. But officially, Bell will never tell you to do this way. In the next several days, it almost drive me crazy: 1st, waiting: you hang on the line easily up to half hour listening the music before you can speak to a real person. 2nd, they transfer you to different departments to verify your status, and in between, please enjoy the music. The Bell customer service system seems to be very disorganized, information is not shared among the different deparments. 3rd, Bell call centre may have the different working shift, in some cases, one Rep puts the issue at his/her service record, the other Reps may not open that for you, you have to wait for that guy coming back. 4th, not to mention that everytime you go through that "wonderful", Lengthy and Complicated Voice Activated Answering system..... Finally, days later, I managed to disconnect the phone line and terminated phone service with Bell. What a feat! Exhausted! But wait, story have not ended yet! Moved to new house, took severy weeks to settle down everything. Not so many friends here, my wife and I each has the working cellphone, so sufficient! Just about the time to relax. a letter mail came from Bell, opened the envelop. What!!!??? I should pay over $100 for the new Bell phone line, and the phone number is, oh, I remembered, it is the number which I refused to accept months ago. Called in to find out; "Sir, our record shows that your wife placed order with us....." ...... " Sorry, there was no information showing when this order was placed, ..., things were done verbally, so we don't have any further information on that. I am sorry, we are not able to solve this. ..Oh, yeah, please check with your wife, she might forget to tell you that...". " ...You should trust us, you should have confidence with us..." Speechless, I guess I have no other choice but to pay. Just let you know, I terminated Bell phone again. But, wondering whether months later there will be another Bellphone bill come in...
